Based on recent events, Kart Racing in 2004 has been a year of change, hard choices and uncertainty. However, one constant in this tumultuous year was the completion of one of the longest running and most successful regional racing series in North America, the Florida Winter Tour.
For the past 5 years the Florida Winter Tour has been produced by Bill Wright at Formula Kart Productions, Inc, based in Panama City, FL . Originally a SKUSA shifter-kart-only program, the last three years saw The Winter Tour expand to include the popular Rotax Max class structure as well. The 2004 edition of the Florida Winter Tour, presented by Hudlett Engines, produced record numbers for participation in both shifter and Rotax Max classes. It was "SERIOUS FUN !"
The Formula Kart Productions promoted Florida Winter Tours have provided truly International competition, with class champions and competitors representing 7 different countries and 22 U.S. states, and a large awards program, with over $90,000 paid out in cash and awards.
